Treatment
Frozen shoulder is the inability to raise the arm due to intense pain. The cause is attributed to capsulitis of the shoulder joint, but my experience in myofascial pain has shown me that the most important cause of immobility is the shortening of the subscapularis muscle fibers. This muscle is located between the ribs and the shoulder blade, therefore it is difficult to explore, often going unnoticed.
The pain projects to the back of the shoulder and may extend down the back of the arm to the elbow. Sometimes it causes pain around the wrist.
It is possible to recover complete mobility of the arm without the need for infiltrations with corticosteroids and without producing capsular tears under anesthesia, treating the subscapularis muscle with the myofascial release technique applied to the trigger points, combined with exercises to regain mobility of the shoulder joint
